Glenna Clifton, originally from Wayne, Pennsylvania, is currently completing a double major in dance and physics and minor in chemistry at Barnard College. Throughout her childhood, she trained at the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet, with Margarita DeSaá and John White, and at the Novak and Kovalska Academy of Ballet, with Edmund Novak. She attended several summer ballet intensives including Kaatsbaan Extreme Ballet, the Boston Ballet, the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts, and the Kirov Academy of Ballet. She has worked with many choreographers, including Nicholas Leichter and Roseanne Spradlin, and has choreographed several pieces for student dance groups, including the Columbia Ballet Collaborative. Glenna has conducted research on spinning black hole orbits at Columbia University and atmospheric ozone levels at the University of Rhode Island. She hopes to dance with a contemporary ballet company and pursue a Ph.D. in human movement and biomechanics.
