Marquet K. Lee began his dance training at John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School (DFA) in Augusta, GA at the age of twelve under the direction of Renee Toole. In addition to his training at DFA, he trained at Cutno Dance mentored by Ferneasa Cutno and Thomas and Sarah Shoemaker. He would continue to train at such institutions as The Augusta Ballet, LINES ballet, Hubbard Street, and The Ailey School where he is currently pursuing a BFA from the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program. He has been awarded The Governor’s Honor Award in Dance 2005, The Ted Shawn Award 2007, and The Kathryn M. Quigley Fellowship 2007. Throughout his dance training, Marquet has performed works by Alvin Ailey, Matthew Rushing, Scott Rink, Troy Powell, Francisco Martinez, Amy Raymond, Alonzo King, Robert Moses, and Francesca Harper. He enjoys and has experience in teaching and choreographing, but his passion for the arts is not limited to dance. Marquet is proficient in computer graphics, web design, and photography. He works actively as a Costume Designer and Design Assistant to Elena Commendador.
